Northwest-based, nature driven watercolor artist, celebrating love for everything wild, from curious sea creatures to quiet botanical details.
Inspired by Wonder
Born and raised in Washington State, I’m a Seattle–based watercolor artist with a soft spot for tidepools, wild trails, and the tiny details in nature. Inspired by life in the Pacific Northwest and an insatiable wanderlust that has taken me around the world, my work grows from a deep appreciation for nature’s biggest and smallest inhabitants, quirks and all.
A lifelong hiker and traveler, I’ve always been drawn to noticing and documenting quiet outdoor moments, first through photography. What began as a 31-day watercolor challenge in January 2025 quickly became a love of the medium itself - its patience, its unpredictability, and the way it invites experimentation. Watercolor became a favorite way to capture beloved flora and fauna, along with small vignettes inspired by both local landscapes and wildlife encountered farther from home.
My paintings range from richly layered and detailed to intentionally simple, allowing negative space to tell its own story. As a self-taught artist, I approach each piece with curiosity and playfulness, always exploring new techniques and subjects.
At its core, MaritMakes is about holding onto small moments of wonder - whether it’s a familiar native plant or a creature discovered halfway across the world - and bringing a bit of that curiosity and joy indoors.
